problem in xsl formatting object  RSS feed

hi all,
i am facing a problem with my xsl,This is my first example using formatting objects.when i run the following in the browser i get empty response,can anyone help me in solving the problem,
this is my xml file
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="srivat.xsl"?>
<greeting>
Hello from srivatsan
</greeting>
