POST to a servlet

I am completely new to XML. I am trying to POST a XML request to a servlet URL. I appreciate any kind of help

There are plenty of libaries around for this
http://www.xmlrpc.com/ - simple XML based RPC
And of course you can go for the more complex SOAP approach
