Which is better SAX or DOM? I dont understand way their are two...why not just one.

Well, both these serve different purposes.
While I don't want to repeat what was said before,

HI,
AS far as I can see SAX is serial access and DOM is random access.
( gleamed that from comments on this page : http://java.sun.com/xml/tutorial_intro.html)
So I imagine the implementation details of a project would determine the most efficient one to use.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.
