Positive Energy is a well-funded, rapidly growing startup delivering products designed to make a significant dent in carbon emissions. We're landing major contracts and working hard to expand a communication platform for utilities and state governments designed to target the half of the global warming equation that not enough people are looking at: efficiency and energy demand. Our approach leverages innovative technology, direct marketing and behavioral science expertise, and world-class information design to change the way millions of people across the country think about and use energy.

ABOUT THE JOB

You will work directly with our small development team, working off a blank slate to create impactful, well-designed web applications. The products you build will change the way millions of people across the country think about and use energy.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and implementation of the interactive version of our energy efficiency reporting engine
* Support and ongoing enhancement of our carbon calculator
* Development of widgets customized for our clients
* Prototyping of web apps to be used during sales presentations

ABOUT YOU
* You have a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
* Very strong with the broad range of web technologies including XHTML, CSS, and Javascript
* Fluent in Java or another high-level language
* Working knowledge of Ruby on Rails a plus
* Understand the intricacies of building a web application from the browser to the database
* You have a strong drive to learn and enjoy challenges
