Creating XML with DOM

Hello,
I am trying to create an XML object using DOM and using methods like
getDocumentElement()
createElement() -->maybe creates a tag
createTextNode(data)
getValue()
AppendChild()
setAttribute()
I am having trouble getting started..any suggestions?
anyone have a sample shell for creating something like the following using DOM?
<Header>
<name>Joe</name>
<number>112</number>
</Header>

Someone showed me this and I found it very helpful.

Thanks. That did help.
I am still reviewing it but I figure I can create an object that DOM could add nodes to - similar to what it mentions in the tutorial.
