A Thompson Technologies client has an immediate opening for a Senior Software Engineer. This is a 3 month contract to hire opportunity in Alpharetta.

In this role, you will participate in full software development lifecycle and will be responsible for designing and development new applications based on a large data-centric system using Java, J2EE, Java, Oracle 10, Web / XML, Solaris, etc. To qualify, candidates must possess server side development experience.

NOTE: Local candidates preferred � no relocation assistance available. Must be legally authorized to work for any U.S. employer � no visa sponsorship available.

6+ years of software development experience required.
XML experience required.
4+ years of solid J2EE (EJB) programming experience required.
3+ years of Oracle RDBMS and SQL experience required.
3+ years of UNIX development required; Solaris preferred.
Experience with Application Servers (i.e., JBoss, Weblogic, Exc.)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
Excellent communications and writing skills required.
Must be a quick learner and a self-starter.
Experience programming in PL/SQL is a plus.
Experience with OOD, UML modeling tools and the use of design patterns.
Ability to operate in a team environment and under tight deadlines.
