You can have a look at the xml book reviews page to find a suitable book for you http://www.javaranch.com/bunkhouse/XML.jsp ..
i would also recommend this book Cocoon 2 Programming: Web Publishing with XML and Java

Thanks for recommending my book Balaji, but I fear it has become outdated.

The Cocoon people have been very busy changing things around. You should start by finding out exactly which versions of XML, XSL, and Cocoon you are going to have to use, and then hunt for a matching book - otherwise things will get very confusing.
