when defining an XML schema and including the following line :
targerNamespace="http://mydomain.com/ws"
why I have to include this line :
xmlns:jt="http://mydomain.com/ws" ??

Thats is to explicitly qualify your schema elements. Will be useful if you are refering multiple namespaces in your schema. Like you can use the prefix jt to qualify your element.
<element ref="jt omainname" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"/>
