What jar files are needed in the CLASSPATH, in order, to use Xalan & Xerces, in conjunction with the J2 SDK 1.4.2_05?

That would be "xalan.jar" and "xerces.jar"...

xercesImpl.jar and xerces.jar are the same thing. In some versions of Xerces, the file is named xerces.jar and in others, xercesImpl.jar. I never remember which one is newer.

xml-apis.jar, on the other hand, is not needed at all if you're using JDK 1.4 because those interfaces are included in JDK 1.4. If you would use JDK 1.3, then you'd also need xml-apis.jar in your classpath.

Xerces 2.6.2 doesn't have a "xerces.jar" file.

Therefore, I just added xercesImpl.jar to my CLASSPATH, under Eclipse.

Is this the right thing to do?

Thanks,
