DTD vs Schema

HI All.,
I want to know the difference between DTD and XSD(schema).
when we intent to use Schema rather than DTD..?

DTD Vs Schema,

1. dtd is weakly typed.but schema is strongly typed(means support more data
types).

2. DTD does not supports name spaces. where as schemas support.

3. Schema is internally written in terms on xml where as for dtd we have to
know the separate vocunlory.
