RUP is a process framework, coming with a whole bunch of practices you have to choose from to build your own process. XP is a minimalistic process, coming with a dozen practices it is suggesting to start with and to adapt to your needs. There are instances of RUP which are rather XPish - see http://www.objectmentor.com/resources/articles/RUPvsXP.pdf. Most often RUP is used in a much more heavy weight way, though.
IS there is any other methodology with equi-fame to both?
May I ask why you are looking for fame?
