Is there a full rup case study using j2ee available on the net? I'd like to look at an example done the right way so i can base my project on it. i've seen many simplified examples in books but no full example.

Googling for 5 minutes I came up with three:
http://www-3.ibm.com/software/success/cssdb.nsf/CS/NAVO-5ADR6K?OpenDocument&Site=wssoftware
http://www.sun.com/service/sunps/success/case_studies/mtmc_cs3.html
http://www.sun.com/service/sunps/success/case_studies/idp.pdf
Not sure whether they provide any relevant information about their particular RUP implementation but at least they mention using RUP somewhere in the text...

Uh oh, you are on a *very* slippery slope here!
There simply is *no* one right way. Every process needs to be taylored to the project it is used for, *not* the other way around. RUP accomodates for this by being a process *framework* - that is, it is a set of practices you are required to choose from for your project. Doing so isn't simple. If you are just blindly copying the approach of another project, the process is as likely to hinder you as to help.
Can you tell us more about your project? How big is it? How many developers are working on it? Are they colocated? How do you communicate with the stakeholders?
