Welcome to JavaRanch Mary and Tom,

I have no clue what is meant by Lean Software Development. Are you describing another Software Development Process?

If so, what role does the technology play in your process?

I put that question already in another thread about OpenUP Agility and Discipline Made Easy: What role plays technology?

The answer there didn't satisfy me  .

Regards,
Darya

Hello Darya,

I don't consider Lean to be a process, but a relatively well-established way of thinking about things that can give people an interesting perspective on the process of software development. Having read the thread you pointed to, I suspect this is not what you are looking for.
