As I was reading your sample chapter, I found the diagram that describes our situation perfectly.

Actually, several of them are very applicable, but the kitchen sink one is right on the money, so to speak.

We actually were going to name one of our sub-domains kitchensink.ourcompany.com

For those of you wondering what the "kitchen sink" is, there is a common smell where the customer wants every single requirement and isn't willing to prioritize. The book describes this smell and then suggests several Agile practices to build trust and increase communication bandwidth to get beyond this particular problem.

I think that is why I wrote the book as patterns. None of it is made up - all of it is based on true stories, looking back over the past 9 years with scores of Agile practitioners (other than myself) sharing their knowledge and experience. If you take a look at the acknowledgments, they are very lengthy because so many people shared their experiences to bring this book to fruition.
