I am thinking about buying a laptop with AMD as HP has some really good deals on them....however I am worried how noisy they are. Any AMD laptop owners here?

Why would a CPU be noisy? Is it all the electrons making whrrrr noises as they round the turns?

I knew someone would be coming with smart ass comments like these. Wonder if they make you feel better.
Sorry for not making myself clear. Obviously the fan is the one making noise and even here we discussed many times how amd chips produced a lot more heat than Pentium ones. Wonder if that is still the case.
TIA for any meaningful response.

Yeah Randall, I thought about it. It's probably the best way to confirm that. I'll check out nearest Best Buy soon.
Thanks

Sorry for reviving this thread. I have done extensive research on the topic of AMD CPUs running hotter than Intel CPUs. Unfortunately, I havent found any constructive content on this topic. If anyone has any links to AMD CPUs running hotter, please provide a link.

NEVER do that!
That's exactly what's driving stores out of business and the rest to no longer display their products openly.

If you go to a store, intend to buy there if they have the product you want.
If you want to buy online take the risk that it's not exactly what you hoped it would be.
