I think my computer has been hit by several spyware codes.
I have gone to using Mozilla to keep my sanity. I noticed
the following strange phrase when I use RegEdit.
"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"
This must be in hundreds or thousands of lines. Is this
normal.

5) DyFuCa

download spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download
download adware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
keep the definition lists updated just like a virus scanner.

"ThreadingModel"="Apartment"
that is a model that OCX files use.
as I remember it means that an .ocx can launch an maintain it's own thread within the ocx - as opposed to a single thread.
google should tell you more...

After much time, I finally got rid of all the spyware.
Here are some clues if your having the same problem.
1) I sent a email to one of the spy places and they
sent me an appology and info on how to remove their
stuff. In addition, they told me how to protect my
computer with internet settings and links to download
of spy removing codes. I wish I had saved their letter.
I think it was from Better Internet.
2) Spybot and Bazooka were a big help.
3) I needed to delete a stlbdist.dll in the safe-mode
in order to kill the last one. The safe-mode is not
as bad as I thought it would be. You can still use
Find File code.

ITS BACK!!!
This morning I spent a couple of hours fixing my computer because the font is being changed by some spyware or something. So I upgrade SpyBot, run it, shut down, check it with Bazooka spyware. 3 codes still on my system, read how to manually remove them.... yada, yada, yada

Micro$oft doesn't support Win95 upgrades to Internet Exploder anymore. So I'm stuck. I can either stop using the internet or buy another computer with Micro$oft's planned obsolesence operating systems. Notice the trend in Win95, Win98,Windows2000? Then when the public caught on they went to XP. What's next ZP? or XQ? I wish there was a class action suit for Win95 users against Micro$oft.
I have started using Mozilla, but when I'm not paying attention, a link will open up Internet Exploder and my computer gets infected again. Is there a way to turn off IE???

Microsoft support their software for far longer than most other manufacturers.
Windows 95 is by now a decade old, and seriously outdated.
Remember IBM stopping support for OS/2 3.x in 1997 which was released in 1995?

sonny,
go to your control panel, and go to the add and remove programs.
there you can delete the internet Explorer.
or in IE, go to tools, internet options, programs, there should be some sort of tick box to say you want MS IE to check if it is default. uncheck this.
in mozilla, go to edit, preferences, then click on Navigator in the Category section, in the right hand side there should be a button that says make mozilla your default browser. this should stop IE opening.

There is an option on spybot to not allow anything to be downloaded to the copmputer and to block the known spyware....

"go to your control panel, and go to the add and remove programs.

When I try this I get a pop-up menu to let me 1)add a component 2) repair Internet Explorer of 3) Restore the previous Windows configuration.
No way are they going to let me remove IE from my computer.

Here is a good one from "Dear Bill". The 3 window exits are: OK, CANCEL, or ADVANCE. The "advance" button lets you delete 7 MBytes from a Windows folder(?), but it warns you, "if you do this you will never be able to uninstall Internet Explorer". Isn't that ducky. I wonder why Bill Gates wants to prevent you from uninstalling his software. Sounds like a Monopoly doesn't it.
"or in IE, go to tools, internet options, programs, there should be some sort of tick box to say you want MS IE to check if it is default. uncheck this."
Davy I'll try this later.
I have got the mazilla set as a default, but IE opens anyway.
I also have the other settings in Mazilla set, but when IE
takes over, these setting are not used anymore.
