How do you signal to dos (or a shell script) that the command continues on the next line? For example in UNIX, you would use the backslash at the end of a line and continue typing on the next line.

As far as I know, the Windows/DOS shell does not have any notion about continuations like \ in Unix. If someone does I'd like to hear about it.

If you are working on a reasonably current Win system, you should think about the advanced scripting capabilities: using JScipt or VBScript.

Thanks for the response. That would explain why I couldn't find anything!

I'm just working on a simple batch file. It would be overkill to use a "real" scripting language.
