i have a Voip modem that connects to cable modem. now i have a wireless router to connect in the setup.

my guess is:
cable modem ---> voip modem ---> wireless router.

any feedback is appreciated.

I'm not sure what a voip modem is. But what you've suggested seems reasonable.

Well, I am not sure what a VOIP modem does either, but I am assuming it converts a RJ45 internet connection to a RJ11 phone jack. Hence, IMO, the cable modem should be connected to the router, and all the devices should be connected to it, including the VOIP phone.

BTW, since the phone is not wireless, you may have to make sure that the router supports a wired connection, in addition to a wireless connection.
