Recently I got my new PC with Intel 3.2 GHz processor. It came with some utility that monitors Processor temperature. The max threshold was set to 68 C. But soon I realized that it was low because time and again warning message popped up.

So I changed it to 75 C. Now again the popup is coming whenever I am playing Games and this all is happing when it has nVidia 7800 GT 3D Card.

3D cards max threshold is set to 110 C by default

Fans are working properly and the ventilation is good as well.

How much do you think should I set the max threshold so that I may be able to play games?

My system conf is (if that helps):
Pentium 3.2 GHz (2MB L2 Cache)
2GB DDR2 SD RAM
200 GB Disk (80GB HDD + 120 GB SATA)
XFX nVidia 7800GT Graphics Card with 256 MB RAM

Don't rely on anybody for an answer for this sort of question.
Call the customer care.

Afterall it's your PC for which you must have invested a sum.

Hey i too had the same issue when i bought the PC. I got that software with my intel motherboard chip CD. I had installed the application and thought it is really quite useful. But was getting the same problems you mentioned again and again i uninstalled it. My PC is now 2 years old and working quite fine. I suggest you to uninstall that application.

Thanks for the input.

Actually its an assembled machine and I am the one who gave each and every specification. That PC vendor will not be able to help me in this regard so I have to rely on the experiences of other people.

I wanted a 3.6 GHz processor ... but now wonder it would have melted by this time.

Hey Venkatesh, what's the speed of your processor? If its closer to mine, your suggestion might work

Anyone else, who faced this problem

Mine is an old machine P4 1.6 GHz with (512+128)MB RAM.

Sometime back i had a problem. If i had put some load on my system by running many applications system used to crash all of a sudden. I did not know what was the problem. Opened the cabinet to do some R&D and found that processor FAN is not working . So if it is a high tempature issue your system will crash down all of a sudden.

I think there are very mild chances of processor getting overheated when your processor fans are working fine. My sugession would be to uninstall the application.

If anything wrong happens then gurantee is there right!

I have a 3.1 ghz Dell. I can clearly hear the fan spool up when I view images. A couple times last summer the machine completely froze and it didn't occur to me until later that it might have been heat related. I'm going for water cooled next time. Maybe on a raised floor in a chilled room.

Try some other utility for temp measuring. Also check if there has been update for your BIOS which may fix if there is an issuse with the SW part that may report incorrect temp.

Updated the BIOS, but the problem is still there. Which are the other FREE GOOD QUALITY software for temp measurement?
