On this computer (Windows 98), I found an option on the command prompt window (on the outside of the actual window) which makes the window cover the whole screen. I clicked the button, and now the command prompt takes up the whole screen. The problem is, I have no idea how to change it back to the original size, and with the window taking up the whole screen, I can't do anything else until I close the command prompt. So I have to press ctrl-alt-delete to quit the command prompt window whenever I want to use any other application. How can I make the command prompt window small again?

One way you can fix it is to open the command prompt and then hit alt-tab to select another app that is open. It doesn't matter which application, you just want to be able to see the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Right click on the command prompt icon in the taskbar, and edit the properties. You can also get to the properties through Start - All programs - Accessories then right click on Command Prompt.

Thanks,
Eric

Your advice worked. Thank you. Actually, the command prompt on this computer isn't in accessories; it's in the program menu. Perhaps it's because the computer is a Japanese computer. I don't know.

Have you also tried ALT + ENTER to switch between full screen and window modes?
