How can I open IE (or the default browser) from a VB application without having to know the path of it? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

A quick google got Launching default browser or email client from VB code. I've used something similar from Java, a command:

rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler http://whatever

This works for any file that has a program associated with the extension. You can test it from a command window, too.
