I have really enjoyed my time using Firefox, but there are some issues that I am having that it making it mearly unusable for me. (No, I'm not interested in covering them here. I have spent several days chasing the problems on the net and no longer have the energy)

Is Opera the next option to choose? (no, I'm not interested in IE as an option)

Opera is nice. It's fast. The biggest problem with it for me is I can't find a good developer plug-in like Firebug for it. If I could find one, I'd probably switch to it myself. And no, don't tell me about Firebug lite. It really isn't the same and not as feature rich.

I may have spoken too soon. There is this which seems more like the old web dev toolbar for FF but I'll check it out.

I hate to go back to IE, but .... firefox has been giving me a lot of pain lately. There are more and more websites I go to where firefox just doesn't work. I have to fire up IE to get to the stuff I need.

Those are the sites I just stop visiting. Although, not knowing what you need. I don't need anything on the internet.

It might be a substitute of FF. Web Developer extension but, I doubted, it is a firebug alternative for Opera.

How about using a IE Tab extension for FF? Yes, sometimes it does things different.

Opera has some debugging tools here: http://dev.opera.com/articles/view/opera-developer-tools/

Personally I know more and more people that are fed up with Firefo and moving back to IE7. IE7 is actually rather nice if you set it up right.

Problem with Firefox is it is getting bloated, and the other issue is the extensions people are running. If you are runing Firebig, make sure it is not enabled. Enabling it slows things down.

Opera is a good browser, but you will find that a bunch of sites will not work.

I've been running Opera 9.22 on Xubuntu for the last several days. I've always been disappointed with FF on Linux in general. It's always seemed a ton slower than on Windows. I've been pleasently surprised at how much I am enjoying Opera and I am really discovering some nice features as I go. Plus, it's super fast.

Personally, I haven't run across any sites that don't work in Opera, yet.
