Hi,
What scripting languages/tools are generally used to maintain the server?
Operating system is Windows Server 2003.The applications installed are typical:
1)MS SQL server with 7/8 databases around(10GB data).
2)Apache Tomcat(with 1 application)
3)Microsfot IIS hosting 3/4 web applications.
4)Microsoft Sharepoint server hosting 4 sites(huge data)

Maintenance means:
1)Daily observing how much disk space is remaining on drives and then take action accordingly.
2)Observing every application to check CPU usage/memory etc.
3)To keep watch on Database transaction log files and then shrink them.
4)Any other manual task that can be automated.

PERL? Python? or any OpenSource Tool on Windows?

You have four servers listed, one open source and three proprietary.

It is my experience that one should stay with the tools provided by the vendor of a product. Issues get resolved better.
