hi there...i am new to java ranch
didn't know where to put this question...but i guess someone will hear me out !!!
i am on a win platform(win xp) and am trying to
1>host my own mail server
2>allow users who login to my site a web based email service like the ones provided by google, yahoo etc
i have tried setting up my own mail server (macallan mail solution...which is free...i need free stuff since this is just a hobby project ) but am having problems setting up Mx records and stuff...am also having problems getting established mail servers to accept my emails since they are rejecting my mails as spam...just because i have a dynamic ip(i use a dial up connection and am on a standalone pc...i don't have my own dns servers...i am using no-ip's dynamic dns services...)...any help ???

Well, some help maybe.

There is a Java Mail API, read that documentation for whatever you can get from it. I am working on getting a mail server running, but it appears to be complex and since this is a 'hobby' project, my suggestion is to just keep reading and working on it. That eventually gets things running.

Your isp blocking is likely to be difficult to resolve, the situation is full of unforseen challenges. Could you use a custom designed protocol of some kind, one that you write yourself for exchanging a few messages with whomever ?

Try http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/index.jsp

You're using several techniques that are known spammer techniques. I suppose you don't even have a domain name registered yet, am I right?
