Hi there!,
Im new to encryption and need to encrypt some info using Blowfish. My main goal is to encrypt a String with a key (i.e: using key generated with SecretKeySpec(key.getBytes("UTF-8"),"Blowfish")).

The problem Im finding is that im getting the following error when trying to encrypt:

java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot set up certs for trusted CAs

Ive been checking in different sites how to solve this issue, but Im getting lost with JCE, the policy files, etc.

I just want to encrypt a String internally for my application with no need of using certs with any CA.

Isnt there any way of doing this a bit more simple??? Has anyone come across this type of situation??

Thanks for any help....

cheers,

Alberto.

Welcome to JavaRanch.

This article shows the basics of JCE, and there's no mention of setting up certificates.
