Weblogic RDBMS Authenticator

I created a new RDBMS Authenticator using the weblogic console.
Is there any way I can post the username and passord from the login page to this? The authentication in web.xml is <auth-method>FORM</auth-method> and I have a login page.
When posted to j_security_check it goes to the default authenticator.
