Just cleared the
SCJP Exam: 74%
I have several years background in Programming SQL Databases, C and ObjectPAL (Paradox). I wish I could say the exam was easy, but it is not. I think
you should study hard for the exam and do as many Practice exams.
I felt the actual exam was harder than the mock exams. I scored well over 80-90 in the mock exams. But only 74 in the real exam. I got 73% in Khalid Mughals mock exam and that was almost my score in the real exam also. I think Khalid's
test is closest to the real exam. Though I am not a good test taker.
I studied from Khalid's book for about 3 months, 4-5 hours a day, I did a lot of coding exercies also. I felt there were tricky questions.
* There were no questions on Painting.
* An easy question on GridBagLayout.
* Tricky question in AWT.
* Fairly easy questions in
Java IO, don't miss this. You can get good points in this section.
* The fundamentals section was hard, even though I thought I knew it well, they manage to make it hard.
* One straight forward question in Threads and one very hard question in Threads.
I felt the exam was hard, Good amount of code to analyze with trips and traps and limited time. I could not review my answers.
