Hello Smart Brains,
I am Ashish, a passive member of ranch family.I have cleared my SCJP2 on yesterday.. I am very disappointed with my score. Even like Harpal I am also thinking to give it again.I was expecting 80-90% I got 100% in io, lang and garbage collection and rest are around 70%.. The only thing which pulled me back was
Thread.. I scored only 42%. It is not bcos i am that weak in thread I was running out of time I have finished it in 87 min. and last six que. were on Thread. All are coded.( Avg. 20 lines)One was 39 lines long. And even i have to drag Exhibitbutton's panel up and down. Hey ! please try to get good command over synchronized methods. Particularly it's flow and format.
Ok. Lets talk about exam.. It was easy..If you are strong on your concepts there is nothing to worry just go and earn it..I was scarring a lot with new exam
pattern and even postponed it once. I got more than five questions on Inner class. one was on Casting of array objects and primitives in to each other. Java.io was easy (Only two que).
About my prep: I donot have any exp. in
Java or any other language. I am B.E.; M.B.A.(Systems+Mktg); and was working as a Sr.Exec.(Mktg)in a software firm. I was not getting enough time for preparation (not even few days leave)And that's why i have taken calculated risk.. I left the job to become
SCJP(see my dedication

)I have referred R&H(Good), EXAMCRAM,Java Complete Ref.(Excellent for start up)and KAM( i think this the best book which is more suitable for new exam pattern bcos it contain lots of small good codings and good set of review ques)Thanks to Velguruman Zhang and Dipali, Their notes were very helpful at last time. WHENEVER I FELT THAT I AM OUT OF TRACK ABOUT MY PREPARATION AND GOING ON WRONG DIRECTION, I WAS JUST ENTERING INTO THE "RANCH WORLD." It has not only help me technically but psychologically as well in preparing my mind for the exam. Thanks a lot.
If anybody is interested in my as well as others notes which i have than please feel free to mail me My id:

At last thanks for reading this long story...
