Hi all, I finally cleared SCJP2 2 days back. The exam was neither too tough nor a cake walk. 90 minutes is just about enough. I got around 10 mins to review my queshtions. My feelings were mixed while taking the exam. Although i had been aiming for above 90 all the time, while taking the exam my confidence took a downward trend with some really challenging queshtions in threads encountering me, but in the end i was satisfied with a score of 88%. But now i feel sad that if i had got one more right i would have been one among the elite with 90%. Two queshtions still haunt me. One is how good is my score, i see so many scores above 90 that i fear i will be left out in the race. And the second apprehension probably bogs everybody who takes the SCJP. Is a certificate going to turn the heads of a prospective employer. As far as i have heard it only supplements ones knowledge of java but i dont think anybody has got a job solely on the basis of a certificate. I have got over two years of experience in Oracle and C, as many other professionals even i am aspiring for a career in the fascinating world of internet technologies. I think i am in the right direction. And this certification was a first step towards my goal. I have a queshtion for all those there working on internet technologies. What next? what do you think i should learn next to attract companies to hire me???
All that really matters is that you've passed! Enjoy your success and remember that even though your score wasn't over 90% you still scored really well and a lot of people would kill for 88%. Congratulations! Stop worrying and enjoy your success!
Pounding at a thick stone wall won't move it, sometimes, you need to step back to see the way around.
