The best thing to do is write code. Write some using sleep/interrupt and some using wait/notify. You will get the 'feel' of it.

Hi Arvind kota,

Even i am preparing for the exam. Even i faced some problems feeling comfortable with threads. After reading R&H and Exam Cram on the threads chapters i was not feeling comfortable. I bought the "Java Threads by Scott Oaks and Henry Wong" by OReilly. After reading this book a couple of times ( you need not read the chapters on Parallel Processing and stuff you are not comfortable ), i tried the review questions on R&H, Bill Brodgen's exam cram and Khalid Mughals book on threads. I could almost nail each and every questions. My confidence as far as Threads go is pretty good now. This book is a beginner to Intermediate level book. There are advanced level ones out there which you can try after your SCJP. Doug Lea's book is my target next - but you need not read that for the sake of exam i think. If you want to develop architectural solutions involving Threads and design patterns then Doug Lea's book should be good. For the exam sake, try Java Threads by OReilly.
