hello everybody.i'm adeel and i'm from lahore. well i've been a silent observer of this site.the people at javaranch are doing a great job.i cleared the exam yesterday
with a score of 88%.i'm in final year of electrical engg with no programming experience.i did
java for 3 months before taking the exam.
i'd like to share my experience of the exam with all you people.
the exam was not diificult.and the difficulty level of the exam was almost equal to the Marcus Green mock exams.i think Marcus Green,Maji and Bone's mock exams are among the best.don't go for the difficult mock exams.i read only two books.java2 complete reference and java2 certification guide by RHE.RHE is very good book.
now something about the exam as i remember now.
first 25 questions were very easy.no special tricks involved.
one question was from keywords.one from array conversion.
6 questions from operators and assignments including one from short circuit operators.5 questions were from modifiers with emphasis on static, final and abstract.prepare overloading and overriding very well.there were 5 questions from them .inner classes had three.one very important thing.i had 4 questions of fill in the blanks involving
String concatination etc.i wrote the answer only with no use of "".and i got 100%in lang package.
so if u people encounter such questions take care of this thing.
only one question was from gridbag layout which was very easy.
7 questions were from threads .6 of them had codes.
and 6 questions were from io package.2 from util package.
only
thread questions were a bit tricky.i got 85%in threads and 80%in io.one question was from garbage collection.
well from my experience i can now tell that the exams needs the basics of a person to be good.if u know about the basic concepts of java well u can easily go through even though you are not good at packages.
if any body wants to discuss something with me .you can write me email.again in the end i'd like to appreciate all the people of javaranch and GoodLuck to all of you who are to take the exam.
