Dear Friends,
This is just because that I never said no to myself during the high times when I could not spend much time to study for the Certification. I have first visited Javaranch in July last year when one of my friend visitng me over the weekend showed me the Rules Round up game. The game was very interesting and I thought of playing it again as I could'nt pass it for the first time. At that time I was not aware of the secret treasure lying beneath the game. Then and there I thought of giving the Certification exam. I am a full time employee working for a software development company and have over 5 years of work experience. But my work move around VC++, Oracle, little bit of JAVA with CORBA. And to be frank Certification has nothing to do with what you do. Its just that I could'nt get sufficient time to prepare, but at the same I closely watched javaranch( my home page at office and home computer). Earlier I used to have a short name "mehrar". And after a long gap of no study for Aug, Sept and Oct. I studied sincerely during this Dec-Jan. I like the way we all handle and boost everybody in Javaranch and believe me this is a great feeling. Its only this feeling that I never said no to myself. Special thanks to Ajith, Marcus Green, William Brogden, Jane, Maha Anna, and everybody. I thought to keep it short but I just could'nt. The exam was not very hard. I studied Khalid(thanks to my brother u send it for me from India), RHE(bought it online), Java 2 Study guide( thanks to a friend who lended me), ExamPrep(Bought last year after cing javaranch) and ExamCram(thanks to the bookstores where I studied it and made notes with a cup of Cafe Mocha). I did went thru all the Moc Exams and watched my scores based on the analysis provided by javaranch and Maha Anna for these moc exams. Khalids exam is very hard and the real exam is nowhere near Khalid. The real exam was very much near the three exams by Marcus Green. I virtually did all of them and in the last week scored almost 88% in each of them. This all done in the midst when we are expecting to be a first time parents next month.
Special thanks to my wife who's support kept my moral up and my parents who shared their time and kept my spirits up all the time.
Thanks to all.
Best Wishes for all.
Cheers
Regards,
Raj.

Thanks Sachin & Arvind. Now I aim towards SCJD and plan to do it in next 3 months.
For Arvind have the option to take these steps, I have taken these steps and were pretty helpful to me:-
1. Make sure whatever you have done you should revise all.
2. Give all the popular moc exams. Keep them for last week.
3. C how much u score. Now check ur answers and for all the wrong answers put a note in front of the questions as how many are the correct options. Check if u missed an option or selected an extra option. Re do these questions without looking at the answers. This way ur %age will be acurate because the Exam tells u how many are correct for multiple questions.
4. In the exam for a fill in the blank if the value is string type I did not used "" and just wrote the output. It was correct.I got only one.
5. Read all the information available on the Sun site this will help you a lot. Specially the instructions.
6. Make a note of wrong questions and their explainations.
7. Identify using the moc exams ur strong and weak areas.
8. Do not start a new topic which you have not yet done and ur weak. I think just leave it. But as the course is not very big so u can do all of it.
9. Divide ur time so that u can revise all and give proper focus to the weak areas.
10. In the last u can optionally give Khalid moc Exam if u have the book or download it(the PC version does have the answers but the book has the answers). This is a lot harder exam then the real one. But it can boost you. Dont get upset even if u score low in this exam. Watch out for the questions you do wrong and there explainations.
All the Best.
Regards,
Raj
