I've been a RPG programmer for about 16 years and I've finally decided to take the certification exam for Java programmers.
I've been expose to Java on and off for about two years and I've been studing for the exam for about 8 months.
I purchased JQPLUS and it's well worth it. I've also read Khalid Mughal & Rolf Rasmusen's book twice including writing as many Java programs as I can, mostly at home since I work in an AS/400 RPG shop.
I've scheduled the test for 5/7/01 and I'm trying extremely hard to get ready. As much as I've studied, I'm still finding out that there is still a lot to learn.

Hi Donald,
Have you read the Certification FAQ? It includes some tips and trap info that you might find useful. Also, check out Marcus Green's exam tutorial at www.jchq.net and Maha Anna's pages
Hope that helps.
Best of luck on the exam.
