hi everyone
finally i am done with
scjp let me share my
test experience with u
i was upset when i sat for the exam because the center incharge was 1 hour late
so i started the exam one hour late
anyways
after about 20 mts the exam room was freezing and i asked the guy to reduce the A/C and he said mam its central A/c/
i wished i had taken a jacket wiht me
anyways so guys besides the exam even be prepared to face such things
as they do effect
the chill in the room was freezing my mind and i couldn't think well
i sure would have got above 90% but all i was doing was shivering
the questions in the exam are ambigious.
i got 3-4 out of which two of the questions had more than one options right but they asked to select one only.
i did not know what to do
i just crossed my fingers and selected the first right option and it worked but this is not the right way to do it
i will email these questions to Sun let's see what they do about them
DON'T EVEN THINK OF GIVING THE EXAM WITHOUT DOING LOTS AND LOTS OF CODING
the questions i got were completely different from what i have seen on any of the mocks
i got majority of questions in threads, I/O , awt, utility, and operators and assignments. 1 on garbage collection , 1 on overriding and i on inner classes
keep atleast a month for the mock exams, they do help in non- code based questions, for code based i am again stressing, u should do a lot of coding especially threads.
if u ask me jqplus, jwhiz or what
i would say javaranch. this is the best site
but to get the feel of the exam we should have one of the commercial exams
i have used both and i will lay down what i think about each
jqplus - tougher than jwhiz
- very few questions on inner classes, I/O
- otherwise its excellent
jwhiz - quesitons are easier than jqplus
- covers all the topics well
- the interface is bad and too complicated
- when u review the questions after the test, the options are disabled and hence u can't see which ones u ticked as right and why were they wrong
i did not like the interface at all-
javaranch - everything from all the mock exams availabe is posted on javaranch. so keep your loyalties with javaranch
but to have a feel o the exam buy one of the mocks
keep atleast a month for doing just the mocks, what u learn from them u don't learn from any books
on the books---
khalid mughal is the last
word if u have some experience in
java dive straight into khalid mughal
otherwise read RHE completely once and then move on to Khalid Mughal
don't go to the exam only with RHE, it is definitely not enough
i will list the tips and catches on each topic on saturday
bye for now
