Hi all,
I passed JCP with 81% on 24th July 2001.
According to me Khalid Mughal is the only best book to prepare and JQ+ helps me a lot. I got passed just in 10 days reading and Mocks.

Donald I understand what u mean to say . But My background is that I am a Mechanical Engineer. Truly speaking i do not have any programming Exp. in Java or in any other programming Language. But It was my desire to become a Java Programmer that helps me to pass successfully SCJP just in 10 days. And Yes Java Ranch is also of Nice Help to me.

I think that it may take more than 10 days to even read Mughal book, especially for persons who are new to this field. Reading Mughal, RHE, mocks in 10 days must be fun for you
I have written above sentence so that beginners do not get discouraged with this talk of 10 days or 1 month or perhaps 1 day Friends, it does take time & patience to pass this exam. Have faith and you can make it. This eaxam is not that difficult. Always do some mocks to assess your preparation. Real thing is almost of same levels as mocks or little more hard (as Marcus).

If you are in US, it takes about 10 days to get cert(I got on 9th day). In India, it might take about a month or less, depends on postal service.

this is gr8, in 10 day its 2 much, i am in india and i got my certificate in 12 days.i just find it hard to belive that a person with absolutely no programming xperience & belonging 2 a diff. field can accomplish this, u r really great.

Congrats. U HAVE DONE AN INCREDIBLE JOB.
For me, as a beginner, it took 10 days to finish reading (read carefully - READ & NOT STUDY ) only to realise that I could hardly remember anything :rolleyes . I went blank twice during the exam fearing that I may fail. But managed to clear the exam in two months' time and consider myself as SCJP in par with you .
