I am so happy!!!
I was fairly sure I would pass, but being the egotistical person I am, I wanted better than the minimum 61%.
The obligatory notes and tips:
I started by taking a class at school, an intro to java programming. After that I used RHE and all sorts of sites from maha's page. Also used JQ+ (it helped a lot!!!).
The test itself ws fairly straight forward, no questions were hard to understand or unclear. They seemed to come in groups, all of the thread questions together, all of the IO, all of the collections, etc.
Had probably 6 or 7 each on threads and IO (IO was mostly knowing construtors and what args they take), AWT was the layout managers and their effects.
When I got done I took 5 and then went back and reviewed my answers and corrected a couple of stupid mistakes I had made. The 2 hours is plenty of time.
My breakdown:
declarations and access control: 100%
flow control and exception handling: 71% (dont know what happened there, probably a stupid mistake)
garbage collection: 100%
language fundamentals: 88%
operators and assignments: 85%
overloading, overridding, runtime type and object orientations: 100%
threads: 85%
java.awt: 75%
java.lang: 100%
java.util: 100%
java.io: 60% (I knew this would be my weakest)
If anyone has any specific questions let me know

Dave

Percy,
60++ is not a pass.
++60 is. It may sound trivial but I had a question on pre/post increment when I took the SCJP2 last Thursday.
Good luck!
...George
P.S. congratulations Dave...

Thanks everyone for your responses and well wishes. I was on vacation for the last week so haven't been around. But I'm back now
