I passed SCJ2P exam today with a 67%. I have been only been using Java for six months now. I got The Complete Java 2 Certification Study Guide read the 13 chapters and took those above test preps. I was pleased mostly with J@Whiz by far the best one.

Congrats Tom! go on with Java (and JavaRanch )...
Do u think the actual question of the exam was harder than the J@Whiz exam? I need the info as i m appearing 27th and found J@Whiz easiy enough....
A little info on how much questions and level of toughness on I/O, inner class, java.lang and Thread please...

I found that the questions from J@Whiz where right about on the money. I got some I/O questions but was hammered with Threads. Had zero Garbage Collection questions. Inner Class questions where not to bad, and the java.lang and util where ok just got some hard Thread questions.

I am trying to decide to go after the Web Componet Cert of the Developer Cert. Hard choices. Which one are you shooting to get next?

JWhiz appears to be available for purchase at a very reasonable price from
http://www.whizlabs.com/products/javawhiz/buy.html
Could you let us know why you have not been able to find it?

Congratulations Tom
Have you checked out the Developer and Component forums to get an idea of what's involved for each?

u4 ria,
Please read the JavaRanch Name Policy and re-register using a name that complies with the rules.
As Marcus pointed out, JWhiz is a commercial product. Please do not use JavaRanch to solicit illegal copies of any software.
Thanks for your cooperation.

I am going to follow the Developers Exam next. Take some time to relax and learn Flash 4.

I fully agree with marcus.
When you can afford 150 USD for the exam then you can definitely afford to purchase J@Whiz at such a resonable price.
I am sure others will also vote for it and help stop piracy of great softwares.

I just want to ask which one is the best if I buy only one of them. JQ+, J@whiz and Jcertify. Since they are not free.
Should I just use all the free questions or a mix of free and
commercial questions.
Thank you.
