Hi all,
I have been a regular visitor to this forum for last couple of weeks or so. I would like to put forward my strong suggestions to you which should make this forum a rendezvous point for professionals and not for immatures.
I would like all of us to follow the CMM (Capability Maturity Model) path to achieve the goals I list hereafter. The CMM model specifies Key Process Areas to have overall process improvement.
Before I continue, let me make following observations about this forum :
1. The postings in this forum have large volume but very little content. At times I have to go through meaningless drivel to pick up snippets of information about SCJP exam.
2. People simply post that they have passed and give hardly any details. "I shall be back" is the favourite line. Listen, we require information about SCJP, not just news of your passing. Nobody is going to set crackers off for you.
3. People are seen posting nonsensical issues here, for instance, "I live in Behrin", "I live in Timbaktoo". We are simply wasting our time reading this rot.
I would recommend following measures to be taken for overall improvement:
We shall strictly follow this format for Intergroup Co-ordination (CMM Level 3):
-------------------------------------------------------------
Header: Short Greetings
Subject: Announcement of the "news" of your passing the exam" (with percentage).
Body : The nature of exam in terms of difficulty level,
The content in terms of topics breakup
Instructions: This section will record your recommendations
Books and References: Records the material you used for passing the exam.
Thanks:
Your Initial:
--------------------------------------------------------------
People may ask, who is Lala to dictate all this? Remember, by adhering to these standards, we shall evolve into mature professionals who give more importance to exact details and not to absurd rattling.
Thanks for reading all this
Lala

Ever since you came here you are critisizing just about everybody. Site maintainers are doing a great job and it is really helpful for more or less everybody. (Certainly not for you!).
There is nothing wrong with posting the news of their passing. Most of the people spend weeks here asking and answering questions and they get a sense of belonging. If somebody posts their place or name of teacher/instructor/institute etc that's ok. Didn't you ever brag about your college...may be you haven't had the opp to go to a good institution.
What CMM level you are talking about? You have no idea what it is and you are simply posting useless messages for creating a sensation. May be you've been a neglected child.
You need to grow up and realize that if you are very smart, there are people in this world who are smarter than you and there are people in this world who are dumber than you.
Go look for a place where only "smart" people interact or create one if you are so desperate and see how many people join you.
I strongly request moderators to kick this idiot out of here.

This forum is specifically for posting peoples success stories in passing the SCJP. Here is the description of the foum:

See how many Ranchers pass the coveted Sun Certification exam every day. Listen to their experiences and announce your success!!

IF your looking for actual help with specific topics regarding the test check out the Programmer Certification Study forum.

hope that helps

I agree with the forum currently in place. Not everyone who come here are professionals yet. However, we also need not resort to name-calling, lowering our standard to our critical guests. I think it would be a great idea for Lala to create his own professionalsite. Better yet, he could help us non-professionals with some 'positive' feedback

Ok I'll take the bait again...
What is your problem?
Lala why don't you start up your own site for 'mature professionals' rather than slagging this site? Rather than spitting acidic comments on others success - You could be studying... As my mum would say 'If you ain't got anything nice to say don't say anything...'
To paraphrase one of your posts - "67% is no great deal.." that is down right offensive and demeans someone's application effort to passing the exam.
Jeeze this is annoying
See how you go all the best Jim

Cool down , Guys. Cool Down. We are moving away from the objective of the site. We don't want to make this place as unfriendly place. I know , it is hearting feelings of lots of javaranchers. Please you have bear with this small things. We should not get carried away by people who talk about cmm , but behave irrationally.

Rob , Percy , Dave , Jim , you are long time associates of this site. We should not induldge in this petty quarrle.
The action will be taken against anybody who try to heart feelings of teh people , make personal remarks & messing the serene environs of ranch. So , be assured.
Happy learning.
Your Friendly Bartender
Shailesh.
p.s. I am closing this thread here as we shall utilize our time in good things.
