Hello ranchers!
I passed today with 77%. Maybe my score wasn't that high but I'm still very happy . I missed on threads and io.... as aspected.. had very low score on language fundamentals 42% . Got 4 100% and 85 - 87 at the rest. Before I went to the exam local I was prepared to fail. But, I worked hard for this.
I wan't to thank Javaranch and all the great posters here. Without your help I wouldn't even know which book to buy. Thanks!
I see you around. I'm thinking of taknig UML or XML after this. What do you suggest?

Hi Mathias.
I passed today too ( even lower score than you ).
Now that I have my score sheet with the word - or should that be String?? - "PASSED", I don't care what the score was.
Sure it'd feel lovely to post a 90-something score - and I love to see people posting those scores - but the important thing is we passed and now we can move on to better things.
I'm split between the IBM XML Cert and SJWCD as next projects. I think I may stick with Java for now and leave XML for next or the following year but the XML buzz in the IT industry is difficult to resist.
Getting the right certs and projects to work on is a bit like selecting scripts for an actor. If you do the same work as everyone else and you're just as good but you pick the right stuff.. you're the star.
Here's hoping we have the foresight and wisdom to choose well and enjoy our choices.

I'm planning to take them both. It's just that I don't know where to start. First of all I don't know much about these standards. So it's quite difficult to just jump into something.
Thanks for your grats! I hope I can be of help for other ranchers.

Congrats Mathias.
If u r interested in java objects , u can buy the book "Beginning Java Objects" - an effort by Jacquie Barker to make us understand and think in terms of objects, step by step.

Job Well Done!!
"Preparing to fail and passing" is a very interesting theory
The beauty of Java is there are many areas to specialize in. It's a great problem to have.
