Bonjour,
I took the programmer exam last friday and passed with 81%.
The test was pretty much what I expected, except for a few "practical" questions on I/Os which I wasn't quite ready for, like what happens if you open an existing random access file with "w", don't write anything to it and don't close it ...
Also, I didn't get any questions on String and other standard APIs which is quite sad since I spend a lot of time learning them !
I found the 2 hours allocated were plenty: I did a first round of all the questions in a bit more than 1 hour and marked the ones I wasn't sure of and the ones I couldn't answer. Then I spent a bit more time on the unanswered ones and finally did a last complete round to verify everything ... is that normal behavior or should I go see a shrink ?
Overall, I'd say it was a bit harder than what I expected after taking all the mock exam I could find on the net.
Now, the real point of this note was to find out what I should do now. Is the Programmer certification enough to score a Java job (I have 10 years experience in mainframe assembler programming) or should I consider the Developper certification while I'm at it ?
Thanks,
Paul

Congrats Paul,
Good job done! Well, real exam should be a little tougher than the dummy ones, right?
