Well ladies and gentleman i finally managed to clear the scjp
examination yesterday if some of you are regular cowhands you probably notice my message dated of 19th of the current month asking for urgent help regarding instanceof operators etc...well that helped a lot and id like to take this oppurtunity in expressing my gratitude with all those who helped me in addition to the great help this site has been to me in acheiving my goal
i scored 77% in the exam and i know that to some that might seem low but , as i am also a third year computer engineering student i had my fall semester examinations coming up (no excuses ' i know) still i am
happy i cleared . as i mentioned in my earlier messages that i studied Khalid Mughals book rigourously along with Ivor Hortons beginning java2
i solved the JQ+ exam simulator extensively along with Khalid mughals exam applet, lastly i appeared in the examination from Sysnet which is in karachi , Pakistan
Now a word of advice to all those giving there examinations in the future , belive me i am saying this after a lot of thought ...
The SCJP examination is not as "tough" as you might have heard or it is not that "something out of my league thing" AT ALL . while having said that let me add at the same time it does not imply that you dont have to work hard for it, do your best and go ahead and give it dont procastinate. Another interesting thing i noted in the course of my examination was the fact that there are a lot of misleading mocks on the net. which though being good in clearing concepts and testing ability are to some extent useless in the certification context.
i would suggest everyone to stick to some sure shot mocks that have been around and not to sit and make yourself tense or feel down because you got a low % on a particular mock.
A thing you have got to remember is that the people who make these mocks are not out to fail you , but to test your ability and if god forbid you do fail remember this is not the end of the world .
well i hoped this helps all you future scjp's
good bye and good luck
