Dear Fellow Ranchers,
Just coming from the test center. Passed with 91% (53/59). I am really greatful to this site and all the ranchers (not mentioning any name for the fear of mistakenly forgetting anyone). The test was really very easy, 5 or 6 six question were very similar to Marcus Green Mock/jq+. I didn't had any fill in the textbox q's. 70-75% were code based q's. I had one q's with no correc answer which ask me for 2 correct ansers and one was with just one correct answer but asking for two answers.
The books I used was RHE and Exam Cram, and mock were Marcus Green, JQ+ and sun guoqiao.
The very important sections are IO, Threads, Inner classes, Collections, Event Handling, and FUNDAMENTALS.
The Section Analysis is as follows:
Declarations and Access Control....................75%
Flow control and exception handling................85%
Garbage Collection.................................100%
Language Fundamentals..............................100%
Operators and Assignments...........................85%
Overloadin,Overriding,Runtime Type & OO............100%
Threads.............................................85%
java.awt package...................................100%
java.lang package..................................100%
java.util package..................................100%
java.io package....................................100%

Now its time to give back, I am will be very happy to roam around here to raply any querry.
I don't know what to do Next, any suggestions ???

Thanks Viki, Wasim, Guoqiao, Shyam for your wishes.
Viki, the most important thing in IO is to know the constructors, constructors , constructors . thats it. If you know what constructors are and how they behave and what is diff between their working, its more than enough to get 100%. For util and awt, I used RHE and Exam cram and did a lot of coding (there is no shortcut to experience) and give some sensible mock exam like Marcus , JQ+ (I would not recomment trying any hard mock as they didn't cater to the specific certification objective).
All the very best.

Hi, Farooq :
Never doubt you can pass it !
A late congratulations. More than a month ago, i passed the exam, and i received your wishes. Also, i saw your name appeared so many times when people cleared their test. Now, it is time to ...........
From my experience(since i am a SCJP for months), just because i got a certification, doesn't necessary mean i am a "real" programmer. I still met a lot of problems when i was coding. There is a long way to go. We have to keep going.
Anyway, Farooq, you are a nice guy, you will have a bright future.
best wishes
honggui

Viki, I will recommend you going thru API. See the whole IO package, see the hierarchy of classes, which classes are abstract(abstract classes can't be instantiated and I think there may be atleast one q's instantiating the abstarct class InputStream or OutputStream). The most important thing is the constructor as what can be possible parameter of the constructors. Further you may also refer to RHE, which I used for my preparation. If you feel lost during the exam, dont be panic, use your common sense in choosing the best answer by POE (Process of Elimination)of wrong answer.

I know what you mean about exam errors. I passed today with 53/59 (which is actually 89%) and had a question asking for 2 answers when there was only. I think there was a typo in one of the answers, but it wasnt too obvious, I didnt really pick it up until after the exam when I was thinking about it.

Have to thank JavaRanch as well. Couldnt have done it without them... or Marcus Greens website. So much information in one place!

Hi Muhammad,
What do you think about the difficulty level of JQ+ mock exam? Is it too difficult that might not cater to the specific certification objective or it is just about right?
Thanks

Hi Roger,
I found the JQ+ to be retalively harder than the actual test but it was very helpful for the preparation not only as the testing tool but also as the learning tool, and don't get upset or disappointed with the low scoree on it. I would strongly recommend Marcus Green's three mock exam and JQ+ as the best mock exams and closest to real exam.
All the very best in your endeavours.
