Missed out on certification by 1 question! (35/59)
Scores were:
Declarations & access control 62%
Flow control/exception handling 71%
Garbage collection 0% (1 question)
Language Fundamentals 66%
Operators & Assignments 42%
Overloading, Overriding etc 85%
Threads 42%
java.awt 75%
lava.lang 100%
java.util 0%
java.io 40%
The way I see it I just didn't prepare for it enough, I needed to go through the packages and learn the contstructors/methods etc. Plus write more sample code to reinforce the concepts.
I've failed this time but I refuse to lose. I'll be taking the exam again in a month or so (ie when I can go through all the objectives and go yep - know that!)
I'll be back.

Hi Guy,
Don't be disappoinited. You are not the only one to face such a situation.
If you haven't tried earlier get hold of these:
Vel's notes
J@Whiz
Marcus Exams
Khalid Mughal
And do concentrate on topics you are week at. Be confident.
I am sure you will come back with great score now.
Regards
Sonia

Guy
That's an excellent attitude t have. There are more than jsut a few people who have taken the test 2 or more times - so it is not an easy test. I know of one person here at the Ranch who passed on his 4th try - that is just proof that you should never give up - hopefully the next post you make in this forum will be to recount your success!!

Plus write more sample code to reinforce the concepts.

Can't stress that enough. Use this to understand why you miss questions on mocks as well. Play with some sample code until you understand what is going on.
Good luck on your next effort.

Don't worry about it Guy. A lot of people don't make it on the first try, however, you got really close. The next time you'll get it.
