Hello All,
Made it! Could not have done it without Java Ranch. One of the keys for me was reading what people in this forum had had to say. This is my experience.
Bought a book, read it, was far from ready. There is a list of books on java ranch - i wish i had consulted in before buying what i bought.
Got the exam notes from brain bench - these proved to be pretty good.
Found the rules round up. Could ace all the questions in a few weeks. The rules round up game gave imparted a great sense of accomplishment and knowledge in a short period of time. It is also easy to fit one round up in with the morning coffee.
Started doing the free mock Exams - Thanks to all the great people posting resources for free. My scores ranged from 60s - 90s. I did some memorization and clarified a few of the murkier points.
Took the Brain Bench Java basics exam. Got a high score and a certificate.
Came to the forums section of java ranch and read the success stories. Pulled some good information and after doing a few evaluation exams decided to purchase jWhiz. Did one or two tests a day from jWhiz. I noticed that on the days i did two tests my second exam was usually ten points higher than the first - i timed my SCPJ2 exam so i would take the last jWhiz exam the morning of the real thing. I scored on the exam about the same thing that I had been scoring on the jWhiz practice tests. Over all i thought the program was pretty good about preparing me for the real thing. A few of the answers that it marked wrong were actually right and in the written explanations they said which one was the right answer.
Took the test - lost ten minutes to someone talking loudly in the hall way. Learned that if there is a disturbance it is best to speak up pronto. I think if i had that ten minutes uninterrupted i could have scored higher - as it was i did not get to review all my answers. Time ran out and I was thanked for participating in the exam, I pressed button for the score breakdown and it gave me percentages for each section but I did not see a pass/fail or overall score. Walked out into the test center and was handed a paper 71 %
So there it is - "There and Back Again" (I couldn?t resist a hobbit reference)
Best of luck to all working toward their SCPJ2

Funny, I didn't see it either, so I thought the hole system was breaking down. That was a scary moment.
