Finally. I missed passing the first time by 1 question. Hit it a little harder for about a week and passed this time.
Now on to UML. That is the last one I need for IBM's certified solution developer.

With IBM and the Jcert initiative, you can become a IBM Certified solution developer with Visualage Java by passing a VAJ exam, SCJP exam, and UML exam. More info at

As far as preparation goes, I used the cattle drive, Brogden's exam cram, GeS exam simulator and Jcertify as well as Marcus Greens tests (many of the questions are in JCertify).
The main reason I didn't pass the first time is that I didn't put enough effort into studying. Even if you are already a Java developer, you definitely need to study hard.
The first exam I received 6-7 questions on File IO, which I hadn't done or studied for.
The second exam I received only 3-4 on File IO, but 9-10 on Threads. You really need to study and understand all aspects.
I had many (well over half) that were code snippets.
