Well folks I would have sworn I failed before I got the print out, it was BRUTAL but I made it with a score of 77%. Got hammered on I/O BIG TIME (6 questions!) & AWT (Which I dont use) but thats all water under the bridge now..Thanks to all here who helped, the rules round up and last but not least my dear friend Ersin Eser for all of the encouragement he gave thru the study process, thanks buddy, couldnt have done it without you!

LOTS of books, I read most of KM, all of Bill B's exam cram, most of Sybex's certification book: The Complete Java 2 Certification Study Guide, & started with Herbert Schildt's Java 2: The Complete Reference.
I will say that I used most of these books for subjects I dont use in my job. I do web development with Java servlets so my experience, although helpful with basics, didnt do much for this test. My BIG problems were I/O, Threads & AWT (NEVER use it) so that's what I really used the books for.
I used JQ+ & JWhiz for mock tests. To be very frank I really dont like JQ+ at all....As I have posted in other threads I found a few errors in their answers & had program problems with it. I really liked JWhiz but it does seem easier than the test I got. Also go thru the rules roundup until you can do it in your sleep!
One final word is to write code....if something doesnt make sense DO THE CODE! Blow it up, fix it and then blow it up again. It will REALLY help with those stupid "Wont compile" choices on many of the questions in the mocks. You have to understand WHY it will blow up or you will start second guessing yourself. Also if a loop question doesnt make sense put in lots of println's to see the values increment.
