I read the Osborne/McGraw Hill (RHE) - includes a section on the Reference Class. This refers to Soft, Weak and Phantom references as part of the Garbage Collection objectives. Can anyone confirm that these are not part of the exam?
Thanks

I do not remember any questions based on this in the exam or in the SUN sample questions.
Your best bet is to check the objectives at Sun's site. That is the final authority on the scope of questions.

The stated objectives for Garbage Collection are:

State the behaviour that is guaranteed by the garbage collector system, and write code that explicitly makes objects eligible for collection.

So as you can see, there are no objectives regarding Reference objects.
