Hi all,
Thanks to great articles in JavaRanch, I passed the
SCJP last week with 94%. I just want to give a note of thanks to all those who have shared their thoughts here to help others.
As for my experience in the process, I would like to strongly emphasize the point that it is pretty easy to clear the exam with reasonable preparation. Here are my mock exam results to set yourself a benchmark.
Final Exam : 94%
Maha Anna's Exam : 90%
Heller's Book : 70%
Ramussen's Book : 70%
Exam Cram : 80%
I used the Ramussen book mostly, combined with the McGrawHill book. Both of them are really good. While Ramussen book is hard, McGrawHill is more towards the actual exam, maybe a bit more lenient.
Concentrate on Threads, IO, AWT, and Fundamentals.
Good Luck!
