I need a little encouragement from some of you mature guys out there. I know kids of 10-12years have passed the exam with 99% but what about guys my age( I am 51).I am planning to take the exam in 2-3 months time and at the moment I am getting 40 to 50% in many of the mock exams I have taken and I am confident of improving my score. I have bought the exam voucher and all I need is some encouragement!

3 months may be enough time. The key to succeeding is to actually learn to program java. Some people just think they can "memorize" a bunch of rules and regurgitate them when they take the test. This is almost always a sure recipie for failure.
But if you take the time to write a little bit of code each day, and "play" with the concepts you are learning in your studies, you will actually "learn" how to do it, rather than "memorizing." If you keep a regular study schedule for 3 months, there's no reason why you can't pass with a very good score as well!

Forget about the score which you are getting . I tell this to everyone because i had been through this problem when i was preparing for my exam . I never scored more than 55% in jq+ but i got much more than 55. Three months are more than enough even for a person who doesn't know java and i presume that you've already worked on java before and even if you haven't ... i does not make a difference. Don't worry at all , just code !

3 months is a lot of time. Speaking of scores, which score is enough, etc.... it's all irrelevant. When I was studying for my Microsoft certificate I was never able to score required 72% (or whatever it was) on ANY mock exam. I finally desided just go for it and scored 100% on the real thing.
I believe the same is going on with Java, I scored 55% and 60% on my last 2 mock exams, which probably means I will score well above 75% on the exam.
The reason this goes on is that if you know fundamentals, there are only so many trick questions out there. Once you pass 3-4 mock tests you know them all.
Wish me luck, I am going for it soon. Good luck to you too.
