Glad to say i passed the exam today with a better score than i was expecting. Thanks to everyone at JavaRanch for the help and the links.
One quick last question, 79% is great but is not either just a pass or java guru level and so i was wondering if it was worth putting on the CV or should i just put on that i passed. Would potential employers be impressed with 79% or do they expect guru levels???
Anyway i am over the moon and off to look into doing the SCWCD.
Thanks for everything
Sam

Congratulations! I wouldn't bother with the %.
Managers who respect certs likely already know how much effort they require, and know the % doesn't matter. Managers who haven't been through some kind of cert exam themselves won't know what to make of the %; in that case you just want to be able to talk to them about what you learned and how you think such efforts help you to be a better developer and better employee.

Congrats, Sam! Don't worry about the percentage, just be happy that, when you talk to a potential employer, you can say, "Yup, I'm certifiable!" Oops, I meant "I'm certified!"
